Service Opportunity: Special Olympics Polar Plunge 2016

Stevenson will again be represented by sociology students in the 2016 Polar Plunge.  This is a really fun event that helps raise money for the Special Olympics.

The plunge takes place in Fox Lake at Lake Front Park, 71 Nippersink Blvd.  It is right past Rays Chevy on route 12 in Fox Lake.

The plunge is on Sunday February 28, 2016 at 12pm.

Usually, you will be done by 2pm.

You must raise $75 to plunge!  For your efforts at raising money and for plunging, sociology students can earn 3 hours doing this event.

To register, please go to this website and setup an account but be sure to select Stevenson High School as your school/group/organization.

If you are not sure about how to do it or if you want more info, download a flyer here.

Some tips for the event:
Bring an extra towel to stand on after you plunge.
Bring a plastic bag to put your wet clothes in.
Have loose fitting clothing to change into.
Wear some shoes/boots that you can take on/off easily and can get wet/dirty.
